The Michigan US Youth Soccer ODP, in conjunction with the United States Olympic Development Program, is available to all Michigan Youth.  Our goal is to identify and develop soccer players capable of competing at Olympic and International levels.  It is designed to support youth needs at the advanced skill level and stresses player identification and development to their highest potential. ODP players have many benefits and opportunities available to them, in addition to exposure of top level coaching and training.

All players must tryout each year, even if they made the Regional Pool in 2008. The only players excused are those who are attending a regional event on tryout dates. If you make a regional pool or team, you must register, pay on time and also come to the first scheduled tryout session in your birth year; your age group coach may or may not excuse you from the last three tryout training sessions, but you will not know until after the first session.

July 25th is the last possible date to register for tryouts.

You have the option to pay by check, your check must be received within 7 days after you register on-line, or your registration will be deleted. You can also pay by credit card, either way; you must register on line and pay prior to the deadlines. Late fees go into effect on June 30th.  On-time tryout fee is $85.00; a late fee applies to any payment received after June 30th. The late tryout fee is $130.00. All tryout registration closes on July 25th. If you miss this deadline then you cannot tryout. There are no other open tryouts. Refunds will be honored for documented medical emergencies only (doctor’s written excuse).  See our refund policy at www.michiganyouthsoccer.org a $50.00 administrative fee will be withheld.

Tryout times for both boys and girls are listed below, all players must tryout in their own birth year, both time sessions each day.

All participants need to arrive a least 30 minutes prior to your first scheduled start time. Check in at the tent to receive both of your tryout shirts. Bring     both t-shirts to all sessions. Parents are responsible for their children between sessions. Bring your own water bottle, shin guards, ball, soccer shoes, and issued tryout t-shirts to each session. Players named to a pool after the tryouts must provide a copy of their birth certificate or passport within 30 days of announcement to continue in the ODP program. Do not bring them to the tryout.
